Forexpert is a decision support system designed to optimise intensive forest management prescriptions, featuring integrated stand growth simulation and economic analysis functions.

Combined with GIS and database technology, Forexpert can improve forest management planning by explicitely integrating economic performance indicators.

Forexpert can help forest managers to :

• simulate, optimise, analyse and compare profitability of various silviculture scenarios
• tune prescriptions to meet budgetary constraints or stand output targets
• prepare management plans
• track non-timber performance indicators (integrated forest management)
• estimate woodlot value

Different modules allow the user to calculate AAC, explore different management strategies, and to prepare management plans.

Forexpert, designed by Louis-Jean Lussier, M.Sc.F. Ph.D., helps forest managers integrate experience and data into a decision-making process based on a range of performance indicators: financial, forestry, ecological, etc.

Forexpert is compatible with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access. A special version of the software is available for private woodlot planning.
